Akwa Ibom Government To Distribute 20,000 Jerseys Ahead Of Saturday’s World Cup Qualifier
Akwa Ibom Government says it will distribute 20,000 T-shirts to football fans to cheer the Super Eagles in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. The state government also constituted a Local Organising Committee for the match. Chairman of the Publicity Sub-committee of the LOC, Nse Edem, said on Tuesday the committee, chaired by the Secretary to Akwa Ibom Government, Etekamba Umoren, had medical, security, accommodation and marketing sub-committees. He said the committee would be coordinated by veteran sports journalist Paul Bassey. Edem said, “As far as we are concerned, there will be no excuses for failure because we have learnt our lessons from the last AFCON qualifier played in Uyo.”“We have put every arrangement in place to ensure they don’t reoccur again
